It is a 5% solution of lactose in water with lactalbumin and some lipid content. This by product “WHEY” is put through a process called micro filtration which means separation of solid part of whey  from liquid part of whey, and solid part is what we are concern about because it is the basic raw  material for making of protein shakes.
